Helen Keller with SENSE

As every year in the month of June, Sense International Romania has held together with partner schools from all over the country programmes meant to celebrate the person with deafblindness famous worldwide - Helen Keller. The aim has been to increase awareness and knowledge about deafblindness. This year, we did this together with 18 schools from Arad, Bucharest, Buzău, Craiova, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Oradea, Focșani, Galați, Sibiu, Târgu Frumos and Timișoara.

Around 1000 talented pupils attended multisensory stimulation workshops and activities. Among them, there were painting and sculpture workshops, workshops to create jewels and ornaments, sensory and sports tracks, outdoor hikes, theater, cooking workshops, typography activities and many more.
None of these could have happened without the commitment of the teachers involved, who made sure everything happened in a safe and pleasant environment, with lots of smiles and fun.
