Since 2001, we have permanently fought for the rights of people with deafblindness in Romania. In 2006, the legislation recognized deafblindness as a distinct disability.

Sense International Romania promotes the need for early intervention services for newborn babies with sensory impairments, access to quality education and vocational services for children and young people with deafblindness, support, information and counselling for parents and families.

SIR has made and still makes constant lobby and advocacy efforts to promote the rights of people with deafblindness.
