Friendship with Sense – Helen Keller 2023

To walk with a friend in darkness is better than to walk alone in the light...

In June, we continued our tradition of celebrating the Hellen Keller month together with our partners from the special education schools in Romania, all to increase awareness and understanding of deafblindness. The activities took place under the name Friendship with Sense – Helen Keller 2023.

In total, 438 children with deafblindness, multisensory impairments and sensory impairments together with 233 teachers and parents from 15 special education schools all over the country (in cities like Arad, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Galați, Sibiu, Oradea, Târgu Frumos, Timișoara) attended arts and crafts workshops, dancing and sports activities, visits to local museums/the zoo, pottery workshops, making soap and many more.

The children had an amazing time together with their collegues and teachers under the beautiful motto: "To walk with a friend in darkness is better than to walk alone in the light." (Hellen Keller).
