”Confronting life” – the autobiography of a man who defeated darkness and silence

”Confronting life” is the autobiography of a strong-willed man, a man who defeated darkness and silence. Left without vision and hearing at the age of two, Vasile Adamescu seemed like a lost cause but, through an extraordinary struggle, conquered the impossible, with the help of his kind hearted teachers.

He learned to talk, to write, to read, to know the world through touch, smell, sensations. He was educated and trained, graduated highschool, The Special Education Faculty, the Arts School, becoming a teacher and working throughout his life with students with sensory impairments.

He is actively involved in promoting the rights of people with deafblindness, continually fighting to increase the quality of life for people with visual and hearing impairments. He is one of the few cases in the whole world who achieves such a performance, given the double sensory impairment.

Sense International Romania, together with the University of Bucharest, The Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences – Special Education Department, have the pleasure of inviting you to the launch of Mr. Vasile Adamescu’s second autobiographic book, CONFRONTING LIFE”.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 19th 2018, beginning with 15.30, at the faculty headquarters, Șoseaua Panduri no. 90, Damaschin Amphtheater, groundfloor.
